Going Back to the Basics

i have been thinking of what gifts i could give my friends for Christmas... i know it's only July, but hey, preparation is key especially for personalized handmade gifts!

i was really pleased with the outcome. so here it goes!

materials you'll need:

 cut out the patterns.
* tip * : you can just print out from the computer and use bold fonts (e.g. Cooper)

trace the patterns onto the felt - right side up and opposite side up.

cut out the letters out.
remember to cut inside the pencil marks so no marks will be visible when you sew it.

stack the letters on to of each other.
use a contrasting thread color and start to sew.
make a running stitch along the sides of the letter.

upon stitching about 2/3 around the letter, you can start to put the fiber fill in.
* exemption * you can do this a little at a time, especially when there's a small/thin part that will be harder to fill. in this case - where the round part meets the vertical part.

set the key ring and leather cord in place.

sew the cord in place.  in this part, it's better to stitch back and forth to ensure that it's sturdy.
keep sewing until you reach the starting point.

finished product!

how it all started

i was thinking of a "business" i could do while i'm at home on weekends.  something that doesn't really take me away from my 9 to 5 job.  as i was looking online, i came across several felt projects and that got me inspired.  i drew my templates, bought the materials i needed and bam! that was it!

here are some of my creations.  i will be post some more in the next few days.
i am selling these creations. if you want to see more, you can visit my Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HeartfeltbyLesleyAnne
